Care for a Cuppa: Local hospice unveils new coffee shop

Ashgate Hospicecare is proud to announce that their brand new coffee shop in Clowne is officially open.

The shop, situated on Mill Green Way, offers shopping and a vast range of hot drinks and cakes all under the same roof. It opened its doors to the public last week on the 11th of October.

Andrea Farmary, Manager of Ashgate Hospicecare’s Clowne shop, said “We are very excited to have opened a new coffee shop in the local area. We have been working non-stop to make sure the shop was just right and to now see the local community enjoying themselves it makes everything worthwhile.”

“We are looking forward to welcoming more visitors, both old and new, to have a look around the shop whilst being able to enjoy a cuppa at the same time.”

Ashgate Hospicecare has now opened its second Care for a Cuppa coffee shop in the North Derbyshire area, following the success of Care for a Cuppa launched in Hasland in September/2015.

Laura Stevens, Area Retail Manager at Ashgate Hospicecare, said: “We are extremely excited to unveil our second coffee shop in the Clowne area. Our shops provide much needed funds to help us to continue to care and support our patients and their families. By adding a new coffee shop we are able to benefit both the hospice and the local community.”

Across its full range of services, Ashgate runs a 21-bed Inpatient Unit, a 16-place Day Hospice, and a range of therapy and support services on site. Services are funded mainly through donations and are provided free of charge to patients and their families. The majority of services delivered are in the community, enabling people to stay at home.
