Local Hospice Ambassador walks to Wembley

Do you think you could walk 30 miles a day for 5 days straight? Well, Ashgate Hospicecare Ambassador, Steve Jacques, has taken up the grueling challenge of ‘Walking to Wembley’ all in aid of Ashgate Hospicecare.

The walk, which is set to start at Ashgate Hospicecare and finish at Wembley stadium, is a five day walk between the 26th and 31st of August, totaling an incredible 151 miles.

Steve said, “Having lost both my parents and siblings, I sadly realise how important hospice care is. I feel privileged to support Ashgate Hospicecare and the brilliant work they do.  The level of genuine care across the whole organisation is inspiring.”

“As an Ambassador for the hospice I feel it is my role to not only promote the hospice but to help raise valuable funds for the local people it cares for”

Alison Ward-Foster, who is Partnership Manager at Ashgate Hospicecare, said “It’s absolutely amazing that Steve is going to take on this epic challenge. The money Steve is raising will make a real difference to our patients and their families across North Derbyshire. We wish him all the luck with the walk.”

Training is underway for the walk and any support for Steve would be extremely helpful. You can visit his justgiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/SJwalk2wembley.
