Ashgate Hospicecare is thrilled to announce that Graham Moore, Chairman of Westfield Health, has become a patron of Chesterfield based hospice Ashgate Hospicecare.
Graham, who became Chairman of Westfield Health in 1995 after stepping down as CEO of the organisation, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Ashgate Hospicecare.
Graham Moore, said: “I am delighted and honoured to become a patron at Ashgate Hospicecare. It has been a privilege to support the charity in my role at Westfield and I will actively promote and raise the profile of this wonderful charity at every opportunity.
“Ashgate’s services provide a real-life line for people at a time when they need supporting the most. It really is a wonderful charity and one that I am very proud to be associated with.”
Graham first visited Ashgate Hospicecare two years ago and has been supporting in many ways ever since.
Jean Horton, Chair of Trustees at Ashgate Hospicecare, said: “The hospice honours very few people in this way but for Graham it is a way of recognising his commitment and support, and of thanking and valuing his contribution.
The Board and I are incredibly impressed with the generosity Graham has shown to the Hospice and his genuine interest in the work we do and challenges we face.
We are absolutely delighted that he has accepted this role as Patron; and thank him for his generosity. Graham’s support is helping us right now, but importantly, it is also helping improve the Hospice for the future, which is very much welcomed and valued.”
Across its full range of services, Ashgate Hospicecare runs a 21-bed Inpatient Unit, a 16-place Day Hospice, and a range of therapy and support services on site. Services are funded mainly through donations and are provided free of charge to patients and their families. The majority of services delivered are in the community, enabling people to stay at home.
