Ashgate Hospicecare is thrilled to announce that they have been awarded ‘Charity of the Year’ and ‘Business of the Year’ at the Derbyshire Times Business Awards.
The awards ceremony, which is now in its tenth year of honouring the top businesses across North Derbyshire, was held at Chesterfield College and hosted by Dronfield entrepreneur, Jessica Cunningham, star of TV show The Apprentice.
Barbara-Anne Walker, Chief Executive of Ashgate Hospicecare, said: “What an amazing achievement for Ashgate Hospicecare to win such prestigious honours at the Derbyshire Times Business Awards. This is a very special year for us as we are celebrating 30 years of delivering patient care, since opening our doors in 1988. Ashgate is a very special
organisation, built of people and caring and loving kindness so to be awarded both Charity and Business of the Year really does highlight the quality of care we provide here at the Hospice.
There were 14 categories in total, celebrating and recognising the very best of the areas, businesses and the businessmen and women that run them.
Phil Bramley, Editor at the Derbyshire Times, said: “The awards night was a great celebration of some of the outstanding businesses we have in our local community. The judges had no hesitation in naming Ashgate Hospicecare as our overall Business of the Year 2018 and there can surely be no more deserving recipient. It was especially fitting that they received the award in the year they mark 30 years of providing vital end-of-life care to people across North Derbyshire.”
