Rotary Club of Matlock donate £8,190 to local hospice for rise recliner chairs

Ashgate Hospicecare are thrilled to announce that thanks to the amazing generosity of the Rotary Club of Matlock they have been able to purchase five recliner chairs for patients and their families at the hospice.

The rise recliner chairs have already made a tremendous difference, enabling the hospice to continue providing specialist care as well as significantly improving the independence and comfort for patients who are staying on the Inpatient Unit.

Karen Walker, Ward Manager at Ashgate Hospicecare, said: “Thank you so much to everyone at Rotary Club of Matlock for their incredible kindness.

“The chairs are not only making a huge difference to our patients but also their loved ones who are able to rest and sleep close by, day and night. Thank you so much for making such a positive difference to the lives of our patients and the time they spend with their families.”

Phil Pegg, Past President at Rotary Club of Matlock, said “This money has been raised by the kindness of the community who have contributed to all our fundraising efforts, including Christmas Markets and various bucket collections, without your support we would not have been able to donate this fantastic amount to Ashgate Hospicecare.”
