Ashgate Hospicecare’s mean pay gap data shows that on average for every £1 men earn, women are earning £1.03, with women accounting for 85% of its total workforce.
Their gender pay gap report, which is based on the hourly pay of 331 staff on 5 April 2020, revealed the organisation’s mean gender pay gap is almost 3 per cent in favour of women. The median gender pay gap is 12 per cent in favour of women.
As an employer with over 250 staff, Ashgate Hospicecare is required by law to provide their mean and median gender pay gap data to the government and publish the proportion of men and women in each quartile of the organisation’s payroll.
Ashgate Hospicecare’s data shows that women outnumber men at all pay levels.

According to the Office for National Statistics, nationally the median gender pay gap for all employees in April 2020 was 15.5% down from 17.4% in the previous year. Ashgate Hospicecare stands significantly below this at -12.04%.
