We have a learning and development commitment to our staff, volunteers, and other healthcare professionals.
We have a culture of learning and aim to develop our staff and volunteers to be effective and competent in their roles. We deliver training through a variety of methods to suit the needs of our learners.
We aim to provide clear career pathways for our people. We do this by offering a wide variety of learning experiences to enhance development and learning.
We provide palliative and end-of-life care education to healthcare professionals across North Derbyshire. Once a month, we hold Royal College of Physician accredited evening seminars on a variety of topics. Experts within the field of palliative and end-of-life care deliver the training. These take place at the hospice or through a virtual learning environment via Zoom.
We also work with Chesterfield Royal Hospital to support the specialty training for level three medics (ST3). The ST3 training takes a holistic teamwork approach to address the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients, families or carers. We focus on a wide range of clinical skills, including communication, ethical decision-making, and working with colleagues from different disciplines.
