Below you’ll find information regarding our commitment to our staff and other healthcare professionals and upcoming education events!

Ashgate Hospicecare has a culture of learning, which supports the training and development of our staff and volunteers to enable them to be effective and competent within their roles. The training is delivered through a variety of methods to suit the needs of the learners.

Additionally, we provide and support staff through clear career pathways by enhancing their personal development in the direction they wish to go. This is done via one-day courses or full vocational qualifications. Ashgate Hospicecare is an Ambassador for Apprenticeships and offer opportunities to both existing staff members and those new to the organisation.

Ashgate Hospicecare strives to provide as many education sessions to Healthcare Professionals in North Derbyshire as possible.

These sessions are free for professionals to attend and will range from full day conferences through to evening sessions. Once a month we hold a Royal College of Physician accredited seminar which is presented by experts within the field, with the topic changing each month. The training is mainly delivered onsite here at the hospice but different locations are used for some of the courses.
