Sharing your story – FAQs

Thank you for your interest in sharing your story with Ashgate Hospicecare.

The purpose of our Stories section is to provide a space for individuals who have a connection to the Hospice to share their experiences with others.

By sharing your story, you will:

  • Help showcase the fantastic work of our staff and volunteers
  • Highlight the services we provide
  • Help us secure more donations
  • Encourage people to volunteer
  • Encourage people to fundraise for us

Below are answers to a few questions about consent which you may find useful.

What have I consented to?
You have agreed to share your story to help promote the work of the Ashgate Hospicecare.

What will my story be used for and where will it be published?
We use a number of ways to spread the word about what we do, which can include anything from paper-based copy including leaflets and magazines, to online platforms like social media (such as Facebook and Twitter) and our website.

What is social media?
Social media is an online-based communications tool (via the internet) which many people use to communicate with each other. Ashgate Hospicecare uses social media pages to share information about the work we do.

What do I do if I change my mind?
If at any point you change your mind and would like us to stop using your story, please get in touch with us and we will stop using your story. We will also do all we can to remove any photos or footage already published.
