Given the urgent need for outstanding end of life care in our community, we desperately hope that local health budgets will provide more financial support. But we simply can’t wait for that day to come - we need to act now. Will you stand with us today, to protect us tomorrow?
Despite operating around the clock to meet the growing and more complex needs of our community, less than a third of our total costs are covered by local health budgets. That means, we still have to raise 72% of the funds we need to provide end of life care for desperately ill patients across North Derbyshire every year. For that, we urgently need your help – and this year more than ever.
We are operating around the clock to meet the growing needs of our community, but we urgently need your help this winter.
Your donation today means a more secure tomorrow for Ashgate Hospicecare.
Please give what you can to protect our future and ensure the people of North Derbyshire receive our compassionate, specialist, end of life care for many years to come. Your donation will help us to provide:
- 24-hour care for a patient at home, or on our hospice ward during their final days
- training for nurses so they can continue to care for patients with very complex needs, ensuring they are comfortable in their final days
- the essential equipment a patient needs to be cared for at home in their final days.
On behalf of all the patients we have helped in the past, those in our care today, and the families who will depend on us in the future, thank you for whatever you can give.
We need your help to ensure that Ashgate Hospicecare will continue to exist for the people of North Derbyshire.
Despite all of our efforts, we still find ourselves in a worrying situation that we simply can't ignore. This is why we must turn to you now.
Could pay towards providing equipment so that a patient can be cared for at home.
Could pay towards training our nurses so they can continue to care for patients with complex needs.
Could pay towards the direct care of a patient at the hospice or at home.

Your support will enable us to continue caring for patients who are relying on us to manage their pain and make them comfortable.

"As far as we're concerned, the hospice couldn't possibly have done more for our family. They helped to make our lives as easy as possible in those final weeks. We realise now that it’s thanks to everyone who has donated in the past that our parents were so well looked after. And we know that what we donate now will enable the hospice to carry on delivering this care for future generations.
We were so fortunate to have such amazing care and I couldn't criticise a single thing about Ashgate. There was nothing the hospice could have done better to support us."
"Jackie was a strong woman with a big personality, she was also extremely caring. Even at the end, Jackie wasn't afraid of dying, she was just worried about the rest of us - especially me. As Jackie's condition progressed, she was no longer able to make decisions but the staff at Ashgate always discussed all the options with me and together we were able to respect her wishes.
It was important to both of us that her wishes were listened to and I always felt in a partnership with the hospice in that respect. It was reassuring to know that she was very safe there. I shall forever be grateful to Ashgate Hospicecare for all they did for Jackie and for all they continue to do for me."
